Her eyebrows raised and she walked out in front of him, stretching her arms above her head in a giant yawn. They walked down the hall, being stared at tenatively by the nurses. Heh, they were probably wondering what the hell a bunch of kids were doing in a hospital without supervision of any kind. Scarlet paused a moment, wasn't her father in a room here? She wondered if she could visit him with Tempest, or if it would be too depressing for the kid.
Catching up to them, because they had left her behind, she put her hand on Tempest's shoulder. He turned around, "Hmmm? What is it?"
She sighed, "Do you want to go see dad? I know that it can be kind of depressing seeing him, but we have to do our best. Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to. I don't want to push you to do anything after all the shit you've seen hit the fan in the last twenty four hours."
He seemed to take this into consideration a moment, thinking about the pros and cons of seeing their father, "Well, it makes me sad to see him, but you're right. Let's go."
It was only then that she realized that Ari and Kyle had stopped, and were staring at them. That's right, they didn't know crap about their dad. Only Ari knew about what happened with their mom, Kyle only had to assume that she had died somehow, or left them. She glanced in between both of them, "Our dad is sick. We just like to see him sometimes."

“Good idea, visiting your father.” Ari stretched, then realized that both he and Kyle had their pajamas on. Chuckling a bit, he glanced at Tempest, then up to Scarlet. “Ahh, me and Kyle will be back. What do you want for breakfast,” The clock caught his eyes, twelve twenty five. “I mean lunch?”
His plan was to swing home with the car pick up clothes and his survival pack and then stop off and get lunch, then back to the hospital. That should provide them with enough time to visit their sick father. He felt his stomach drop a bit, wondering if they were close to their father. Kyle and he weren’t. The only time they really talked was when Ari was lighting up with them. He sighed a bit, then nodded at the two, taking Kyle’s hand and walking out.
Some patients in the room laughed because he was holding his brothers hand, but he scowled at them. He couldn’t care less what they said; holding hands was how they had always kept together earlier in life, around the time Ari was a kid himself. They took off in the car, stopping by his house first and dressing themselves, then Ari took Scarlet and Tempest into count, and stopped by their house too. Nobody was home, at least nobody acted like they were. Ari didn’t like snooping, but he grabbed some clothes for both of them, then sped off in the car, locking the door behind him and using the back one.
Kyle and him had picked up lunch and were heading back to the hospital when he wondered how their visit was going.

Scarlet felt bad, it had been so long since they had visited their father, that she couldn't be sure if his old room number was still the one he was in. Of course, she didn't even remember what room it was, so that made her feel even worse. She should really remember shit like the number to their terminally ill father's room. Going up to the counter with people that told you where other people are (lol for Scarlet's description), she asked where her father was, giving his full name to the attendant.
The lady asked who she was, Scarlet quickly gave the answer, and the lady allowed her to the room number. Room number 307. Okay, she needed to remember that this time. Tempest followed her to the elevator, and they were up to the third floor, walking swiftly down the hall. Room 307. She stopped in front of it and stared at the hard wood door, taking a deep breath.
She looked over at Tempest, "Are you ready?"
"Yeah, lets go see papa."
Scarlet smiled at his name for their dad, and turned the handle, walking into the room. Her eyes saddened slightly at the weak appearance of their father, but her smile didn't waver as she walked towards his bedside. He had a few I.V.'s in his arm, and a tube down his throat to regulate his weak breathing. The skin stretched across his boney frame was saggy, as if there was little to no muscle under the outer organ. She heard Tempest intake a quick breath, as if pained.
"Hi daddy. How's the hospital been treating you?" Scarlet knealt down next to his bed, smiling with that same sad look in her eyes. Tempest said his greeting in short proportions, sounding pained and just a bit scared.
Their father looked up at them, his voice sounding a bit butchered because of the tube down his throat, "Oh, it's fine here. Food's bad of course. You guys haven't visited me in a while. You know the doctors told me that I should have about a month left. My muscular disease has almost eaten all the muscle it can, but I'll have a bit of time left. How are my two favorite kids doing?"
Scarlet kept the smile up, "Oh, we've been fine, managing just fine." She didn't dare tell him why she was already at the hospital, "And sorry we haven't been to visit, things have been hectic lately."
Tempest laughed a tiny bit behind her, trying to ease himself, "Yeah. Hectic may be an understatement."
Their father made a poor attempt of a smile at them, about to say something, until he was cut short by the doctor entering. The doctor announced he needed to take routine checkups and chart it, telling them they needed to go. Scarlet grabbed Tempest and brought him out the door, and they promptly made their way down to the first floor again. She looked over at Tempest. He seemed as though he wanted to cry, so she gave him a hug. The elevator arrived at the first floor and she held his hand as they walked out.
They made their way outside and sat on a bench, waiting for Ari. A tear slid down Tempest's cheek, so Scarlet hugged him into her again, patting his back. Ari needed to hurry up so Kyle could cheer this kid up.

The two of them swerved into the hospital parking lot, Kyle clenching into the seat, his eyes wide at his brother’s driving. As they pulled up to where Tempest and Scarlet stood, Ari’s grin dimmed a bit, but it resurfaced as he realized that Tempest was taking it hard. He looked on the verge of tears, and Ari leaned around Kyle and opened the back door, pushing it open for those two.
They got in, and as they started driving away, Kyle climbed over the backseat and sat next to Tempest, smiling, doing his best to cheer his friend up. He handed both of them food from some restaurant they’d stopped by, smiling. Ari looked at them through the windshield mirror, concerned for both of his friends. They pulled up to a gas station so he could fuel up, and Ari turned to look at them. “I, ahh, brought some clothes for you too. I figured you didn’t want to be wearing your current options.” He smiled at Scarlet’s white hospital gown thing, then at Tempest, whose clothes were bloodied. He frowned at the latter, sad that this kid had to go through so much.
“I guess you can change in the restrooms, “ He said, getting up out of the car. Ari began to gas up the car, waiting around as it slowly filled up.

"Oh thank the nonexistent god." She grabbed her clothes out of his hands thankfully and nearly sprinted into the gas station, feeling like in idiot in the pajama-like attire that fitted her. Changing rather rapidly, she got back outside, the hospital gown in her arms. Scarlet opened the car door and fell backwards inwardly onto the seat. She corrected her position and sat up appropriately to the way you were supposed to, in a vehicle of this sorts.
She realized that since Kyle wasn't in the front seat anymore, there was space up there. She took the oppurtunity and crawled forward, into the seat. Sitting down, she finally stopped shifting around. Tempest got into the car, and she looked back to see that he had washed his face off too. Scarlet reached back and ruffled her brother's already messy hair, giving him a wide smile that spelled 'perk up already'.

"Non-existent god," Ari muttered to himself, grinning at the term. Wow, this Scarlet. She was such a character, he thought as she ran into the gas station. Those weird hospital gowns; half pajama half what-the-hell-is-this. He hated them, and was glad he hadn’t been hurt for a while. Actually, scratch that, he had, he just never went to the hospital for his injuries.
“You guys good?” He asked, ducking his head back into the car. Kyle and Tempest were talking, and Scarlet had taken the passenger seat over when he wasn’t looking. The guys nodded at him, so he pulled back up, finished gassing up, and then drove off. “Alright, who’s house are we going to?”

Scarlet pondered his question a moment. Well, her couch at her house was kind of blood drenched, "Um, I think it's best to go to your house. My house is rather....... unorderly at the moment?" The last part was more of a question, and she ran her fingers through her hair, head cocked sideways. She glanced over at him, hoping that he got the message.

"Un-orderly," Ari repeated, swerving a corner and heading towards his house. "Kind of an understatement, Scarlet." He chuckled, glancing back at Kyle and Tempest, who were both preoccupied with talking each other. They were laughing, so that was good enough for him. It could have been just him and Scarlet in the car, for how much attention they were paying to them. He felt a jolt of involuntary fear spike through him, remembering how Scarlet had tackled him off his skateboard and overpowered him. Ah, what the power of rage can do to a person. They pulled up in Ari’s lot, and he parked the car in the shade, putting the keys in the shade like his mom used to do.
“Alright, everyone pile out.” He ushered Kyle and Tempest out, and they quickly jumped out, laughter lighting up the mood. He smiled, then made his way over to the, what he dubbed, ‘weed couch’, because he had always been around the couch when he smoked. It stank of it, but he made Kyle help him carry it onto the porch anyway. Then he shooed him off to play with his new friend.

Scarlet sat down on the couch, which smelled like that it had been woven out of weed. She may have never done the drug herself, but that didn't mean she didn't know what it smelt like. Looking over at Ari, she slightly smiled, a slight sarcastic tone in her voice, but a serious look in her eye, "Why are you so nice to me, eh?"

"Why am I so nice to you? Would you rather me be hostile as fuck?" he continued on, prowling over the question a bit. He didn't really know how to pit it, so he began letting his thoughts flow out. "you seem..........different, I guess. Different as in if anybody could make it out of this shithole of a town it'd be you and you're little brother. Now you gotta be nice to that. I mean look at me and Kyle." he glanced at their brothers, who were running around. " There's no way in hell we could leave. Kyle, maybe, when he gets older, but not me. I'm stuck here like a chicken in barbed wire. Maybe I'm just nice because you could be somebody and I admire that, or maybe cause youve hot one he of a spark in you're 'soul'" he airquoted, " but I don't know." slouching back, he stared at the rumbling thunder clouds in the distance.

She laughed a little, "I've got something 'speacial' you say? Would you mind telling me what that is?" Her gaze turned to the ground, a small smile on her face, "Lately, I don't see what the point in life is anymore. I'm the girl who almost bleed out on her couch yesterday night, because she can't get over her fucking misery at killing her own kin out of necessity." She shrugged, "I don't mean to come off as hostile though. I seriously just don't know what you mean by 'speacial', unless you mean mentally retarded."

"Yeah, you're mentally retarded." He chuckled. "No, I mean special as....eh...you just have a spark, like you'll keep fighting even after you're down and out. Something like that will take you far." Ari said, not really sure of what to say next. It was beautiful out though. There was a calm before the storm, almost dead silent, the rushing of the wind the only real noise. He could smell the wind coming, and he loved it.
He wasn't going to say anything, so he propped his feet up on the porch railing, leaning back on the couch, hands behind his head. Ari kept his eyes from meeting Scarlet's, feeling odd now that he had explained his actions. This chick was scaring him, something that didn't happen very often with Ari.

Scarlet slightly leaned back into to couch, getting more comfortable. Her hair was extremely tangled, and she had to make it home some time before Tempest did, to clean the blood off of everything. She thought about the vodka that contributed to her almost-death. She needed to burn that. What about the shirt that was blood soaked? She needed to burn that too. All of the pictures of her and her mother that would only bring misery? Hell, why not add it to the fire?
Turning to Ari, she opened her eyes that had managed to slide shut a moment ago, "Hey, want to have some form of bonfire thing tonight? I gotta burn some shit." She took her secret pyromaniac side into consideration, as well as Ari's-what-seemed-to-be-hate-thing for his parents, "The boys can stay at my place, so they don't get any ideas from me being a fucking pyro."

"Hmmmm, fire. I like that idea." Ari said, rubbing his hands together in an excited manner. He himself had a rather pyro side, but didn't everybody? Kicking his feet up he said, "I could come over and help you clean up before the kids come over, you know, so they don't freak out." He was referring to the bloody mess that he'd seen at her house.
He himself had things to burn, things that were back when he was a kid. Pictures of him and his family together, before they had hardcore nosedived into the influence. Before Ari had followed them with just as much as gusto as the latter. He half considered getting rid of the stash, but that would just piss his parents off. "Ok, yeah. Hopefully it doesn't rain tonight, that would kill our bonfire idea."

Scarlet smiled wickedly, a chaotic look in her eye, "The fire won't go out if it's big enough."
She laughed a bit, almost something similar to a maniacle laugh, and then promptly stopped. Getting up, she stepped over Ari's legs, which were blocking her exit, nearly tripped onto her face, and then went to the car to grab her bag. She looked over to where Kyle and Tempest were 'frolicing' and walked a bit closer to them.
"Hey Tempest, Kyle," They looked up at her, "Ari and I are gonna hang out tonight. You guys are just gonna go stay over at my place, but first we gotta go over there and.... er... Tidy up a bit. We'll be back in a little, okay?" Both boys nodded and she smiled at them, turning back towards Ari.
